I tried ktmmg and pytivo, I can copy the .tivo file down, but the mpg's that come down only play Audio. I tried running tivodecode on the .tivo file, and again got an mpg that only plays audio

I tried multiple viode players and installed the K-Lite codec pack, nothing, just audio.

Any ideas?

One thing I noticed, it seems to vary show by show. I am trying to save a copy of an an episode of Pawn Stars (I'm in it) but every transfer method only give audio, but I transferred an old Nigh Gallery re-run and it does play video.

Try setting to transport stream instead of program stream (likely your default). If that works you can do a search to find out why, if you're interested.

Before I unplugged my Tivo HD, at some point, I couldn't transfer transport stream files from the Tivo HD to a PC just like OP. My workaround was to transfer the program from the Tivo HD to a Roamio, and then from the Roamio to a PC.

the default is transport stream. Tried it with and without, no help. I also transferred the program with Tivo desktop software, still only had audio
