I have TTG installed on my Desktop running XP. I have tried watching programming that I transferred from my S2. I am able to view the programming on my Desktop, but when I try to open the file from my Notebook that I have hooked up to my 37" HDTV in the living room, WMP is unable to play the file. Is that because I don't have TTG installed on the Notebook? If so, I'm SOL because the Notebook is running Vista. Can anybody please clear this mystery up for me? The programming plays perfectly fine in WMP on my desktop, but doesn't play at all in WMP on my Notebook. Very weird.

The only thing I can figure is that it's because I don't have TTG running on the Notebook but thats just a guess. Can someone please enlighten me? Thanks!

Your guess is correct. Either install 2.3a on the notebook or use the instructions in a thread on this forum to hack the 2.4a installer so it will install. Search on the words "TiVo Desktop" and "Orca", that should find the instructions.
