Transferring lifetime service to new owner?

963 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Stuxnet
I have a TiVo HD with a CableCard and lifetime service that I'm getting ready to sell. Does anyone know if TiVo charges anything to do the transfer? Before I put it up for sale, I'd like to know what to tell buyers regarding what they'll need to do to get the lifetime service transferred.

Also, if anyone has any idea as to how much I should ask for this, I'd appreciate the input.

if you call tivo in advance it makes the process easier, but in reality possession is 9/10 of the Tivo law, it's pretty easy to get one transfered into your name..
I've seen them sell on Ebay for anywhere between $300 and $450 depending on accessories and when and how it's listed and a little luck, on Craigslist/private sale a reasonable amount is $275-$350

I suppose you're aware that the cable card cant be sold as it belongs to your cable provider—and it probably wouldn't work w/your buyer's provider.
