I have been trying to transfer from the DVR to a computer but i have no manual on how to do it. Been trying with a USB connection. Do i need special software?

You can also use a capture device to convert the analog out put to digital for the pc! Welcome To TCF!!r8dermania said:

Actualy its allot more involved. you have to pull the Hard drive out and install it in a pc with the ptvnet.rbtravis said:Yes you need PTVnet from DVRupgrade to enable the USB ports. If they are not enabled you are wasting your time.
It is not a simple task for a tivo newbie. Ie many dont know to pull the drive with the operating system on it and will accidently boot the tivo drive with xp
