Finally!!! The chefs are showing their creativity and uniqueness!
I loved this episode - best all season. It was great to see that the chefs were able to step up and really go all out. That each dish had such praise made the competition more impressive.
It reminded me of an episode in a past season when the chefs had family visit and learned some of their genealogy. I think they went to Ellis Island. At that nights dinner, the judges had a tough time also - all the dishes were great.
I think Lindsay should have gotten it with the black chicken. That was a fantastically dark looking dish!

I have a bit of trouble with Lindsay's name, because she looks, and sounds, almost exactly like one of my coworkers.
Hey, don't diss the frog song. I knew that one, although we did the tongue thing a little bit differently (still stuck the tongue out, but it was more of a 'baaaaa loop' thing, with the tongue sticking out on the baaaa, instead of 'mmmmm aaaaaa' with the tongue out on the aaaaa) and the ending was slightly different.

Sara got busted on her undercooked risotto yet again. You'd figure that they didn't like it the way that you cooked it the first time, that you'd change it the next time. She can't cook it again if she continues to undercook it . She'll go home for it.
As for Second Chance Kitchen

I think it sucks that Ayesha had to give her ingredients to Beverly. She under seasoned her fish and lost the match. It's possible that there weren't enough seasonings for her to do what she wanted. I also thought it was sad that everyone was voting against her. I also thought it was cruel of Tom to ask such a thing. I found it uncomfortable in the extreme.
some great creativity by some of the chefs. Greyson was rewarded for going outside her comfort zone and Beverly paid the price for not.
I am not at all unhappy to see Beverly go. It would have been criminal to boot Grayson after seeing what she put out. I loved her quail egg line.
This is another example of why we need more individual challenges, and less group challenges. The chefs shine in individual ones, but falter in group ones.

I too dislike group challenges (and have probably mentioned this multiple times in threads for past seasons). I even dislike restaurant wars. Someone inevitably gets stuck running the front of the house, or expediting, instead of cooking their dish and must rely on others. That's fine in real life, but not when the chefs are all in competition against one another.

Grayson's dish looked stunningly horrific - I loved how she embraced the challenge. Paul's handprint on the plate was great too (Iron Chef Morimoto on ICA did something similar recently where he used squid ink to make an impression of a fish head and fish tail for plating a dish). Bev didn't seem to really embrace the challenge, although it was gratifying to hear that she cooked her fish perfectly.

I'd like to see them do Restaurant Wars and have to deal with a difficult front of house person or something more realistic. It's Top Chef, not Top Front Of House.
Or maybe have the chef that wins immunity in the first challenge then be house person and not have to cook a dish. They couldn't win either, but they wouldn't have that stress.
