TiVos don't see each other for transferring

I have a premiere and a series 3 hard wired to my home network. They used to see each other and transfer, but now they don't show up in now playing or my shows. I used to have an 8 port switch plugged into my router and I replaced it with a 16 port. I can't be sure the problem coincides with that change, but it's the only thing I can imaging would cause it. Is there a way to make them "discoverable". A setting I forgot about?

Unless its is a managed switch and you have the two on separate VLANs, there is nothing the switch should be doing to interrupt communications between the TiVos. Make sure both are active on TiVo.com, and make sure both have networking enabled. If all that is good, then reboot the TiVos.
I just remembered I put an extra wireless router in my office to extend the wireless range for laptops and ipads. I took the cat 5 cable for the tivo and plugged it into the new router, and then the tivo into that. Everything worked, except they didn't see each other. I bypassed the router and they work now. I wonder if there are settings in the router to allow it to work they way I want?

Unless the new router has a mode that does both client/bridge and repeater modes simultaneously then the output ports of that router are useless. I have a Zyxel WRT3205 that does both but not at the same time. I also have an older WRT54G that I updated with DD-WRT firmware and now it does both together. Check your router user manual for legal modes.
