Another added benefit I've found between TivoHD and ComcastDVR is the remote. The ComcastDVR remote was too confusing, too many methods of FF,RW,Pause, etc. No easy 30-second skip. Also, when controlling the volume of my TV using the Comcast remote, I'd have to repeatedly press and release the button for it to change the volume level more than one notch. With the Tivo remote, I can just hold the volume button down until it has moved enough notches for my liking.
Finally, the Tivo Remote does a MUCH better job at sending the IR signal in so many directions and so strongly that you almost can't miss. The Comcast remote must be pointed DIRECTLY at the device you want to control.
