That's why I say get it all set up, then do the copy. Then you also have the benefit of a working backup (the original hard drive).

Just get the upgraded drive from Weakness or DVR Upgrade and swap them out. It's easy as pie and takes about 10 minutes.

You have to pardon my ignorance, but I'm a Mac user, so I'll have to "borrow" a friend's PC to do a drive upgrade and want to make sure I have all the info I need.
I have a THD on order. Plan to activate it with original drive and Comcast CCs. Once everything checks out, then do the upgrade. It looks like the WD 500G is the best bang for the buck.
