TivoHD audio problem

I've had my TivoHD for a few days now. So far so good except for one problem I found. We recorded a show Friday night (Friday Night Lights in HD) and the audio track is very scratchy. When you leave the show, the bleeps and dings on the tivo menus have the same scratchy noise. When you play another show, however, it goes away and the menus play fine. It's just this one show and I can reproduce it. Given that it screws up the audio in the menus, I think it's not just a problem with the feed of that one show.

I'm running 8.1.7c2 or something like that as the code on the TivoHD. I am not running 9.1 code. Output is HDMI if that matters.

Anyone have this problem? Any ideas?
