I have a Tivo Bolt with two minis connected via MOCA. I have been doing some remodeling so my Tivos have been unplugged frequently the last couple of weeks. Now all 3 Tivos work, but when I push the Tivo button on the remote for both Minis my recorded shows show up and I can watch them or I can press the live tv button and that works. However, after pushing the Tivo button on both Minis it says my Minis are not connected to the network so it can't do any predicting. I did check the network connection and it does say it is disconnected but I have been unable to reconnect. How can I reconnect the Minis to the network? Oh, and the clock is wrong on the Minis.

I don’t understand how if my coaxial cable isn’t connected to the Bolt correctly how is it able to record shows or why am I able to watch live tv on the tv the Bolt is hooked up to? The signal strength on the Bolt is 92 %. I don’t know if that is good or not. I ran a network diagnostic test and it said I needed to open up some ports on my router, but as far as I know my router doesn’t have anything to do with my TiVo setup.

If you can watch live tv and recording on the minis they are connected to the Bolt. There may have been an update to the host that is not on the minis due to them being off line causing the error. I would reboot and force an update connection on all devices to get everything at the same level...

Thanks. As far as forcing an update - is it better to unplug for at least 10 seconds or restart the box? Should I restart the Bolt first and then the Minis? None of the boxes need to be connected to the internet by Ethernet do they?

I restarted each box starting with the Bolt and I’m still having the same problem. I was wondering, does the Bolt need to be hooked up to the interNet to get the Minis back on the network?

I just realized my Bolt has an Ethernet cable that is no longer functioning (I accidentally nicked the cable while remodeling). Is that is what is causing the problem? If so can I hook it up wirelessly? Or can I use a mesh and connect the Bolt to the mesh module by Ethernet?

I would say yes, yes you can.

With the TiVo EDGE, TiVo BOLT and TiVo Roamio Series or newer, you can connect your DVR to your home network wirelessly, without a separate network adapter! The TiVo EDGE, TiVo BOLT and TiVo Roamio Series feature an integrated wireless adapter that requires no additional setup or equipment.

IMPORTANT: For the built-in wireless feature to work, your network name (SSID) must be visible. This is the default setting for the great majority of routers, but if you have changed your router's security settings to hide your SSID, you will need to unhide it before using your TiVo EDGE, TiVo BOLT, TiVo Roamio Series devices wirelessly.

If I connect the Bolt wirelessly to my home network, would my MOCA be disabled? I think I need the MOCAs for my two minis to work.
The closest I can come to finding a discussion with using MoCA and ethernet does not describe wireless. It may work. I'm just not sure, Maybe @krkaufman can offer suggestions based on his post here. Moca and the Tivo Bolt

Yes, your router is integral to the system. Turn everything off. Repower starting with the router then Bolt the minis.

Yes, it will work- Bolt connecting via wifi, but it needs to be set up correctly. But just get another ethernet cable.
