Can you post a picture?
Can you post a picture? So did anyone else get a TIVO wireless mouse in the mail? I have no idea why I got it. And all that is included is a Packing Slip that calls it a Blue Wireless Mouse. I am not complaining, but it seems odd. Is this a promo because I was having trouble with my Premiere XL?
I though beta participants weren't allowed to ever mention they'd participated![]()
Yes I participated in a beta.
If it is like most betas they give you a present for participating. It is usually mentioned in an email discussing the end of the beta.Yes I participated in a beta, but you would think they would tell you. Seems to be a normal wireless mouse.
Plug the receiver into the TiVo and see if the mouse does anything, like let you navigate menus or whatever. So did anyone else get a TIVO wireless mouse in the mail? I have no idea why I got it. So if you plug the receiver into the TiVo, will it recognize the mouse? These were indeed sent out as gifts for beta participation. Communication was sent out advising that a gift would be coming.....and that communication specifically stated not to post about it.
The item itself does not come with communication as it is shipped from a different location.

I'm not up to speed with what's going on in the US market right now, sorry....and thus ends hope for future participants to receive such gifts, would be my guess
Not really the thread for it... But, can you comment on the lack of the infamous "GSOD" in all flavors of 14.8? If so, will it be returning? Some people NOT seeing it think it is safe to pull the plug, while to the best of my knowledge, the same activities are occurring, which warranted the warning it contained about leaving the TiVo alone for up to 3 hours. If this is answered in another thread, a link would be appreciated.
Glad to see you're still around. I though maybe you finally had enough of being in a public forum, like others in TiVo's employ have reportedly done, or perhaps moved on to other things.
-Not a participant or a mouse recipient.
You guys should have built a mouse function into the remote from the very beginning.Nope
Well, keyboard would be nice too, instead of the "bingo card" method of spelling things out (but the keys would be too small or the remote would be too big), but a mouse/trackball on the remote would let you move the on-screen cursor much more quickly than the arrow keys (which really should have been 4 separate keys, I'm sick of having to hit the right arrow at the 2:45 to 2:50 position instead of the 3 o'clock position to get it to actually work, and that's on every S2 remote I've ever used). Not that I'm in a position to influence anything, but how would that be more useful than a keyboard?
I would think a trackball or mouse would be even worse than a keyboard or remote key presses due to the precise nature of using a pointer and the amount of onscreen buttons needed to emulate a keyboard (think the Wii or even the onscreen keyboard built into Macs and Windows.) The only way to overcome that would be to make the onscreen keys even bigger giving less room to the search results and other UI elements.but a mouse/trackball on the remote would let you move the on-screen cursor much more quickly than the arrow keys
I never said anything about, nor did I have in mind, an on-screen keyboard.I would think a trackball or mouse would be even worse than a keyboard or remote key presses due to the precise nature of using a pointer and the amount of onscreen buttons needed to emulate a keyboard (think the Wii or even the onscreen keyboard built into Macs and Windows.) I'm very happy using the iPad/iPhone keyboard using the Tivo app.
