I have two Premiere Tivos circa 2011 and 2013. Both have had Tivo Wireless G USB Network Adapters communicating between themselves and the router to receive guide information since connection. Today I noticed that both adapters had become stuck e.g. melted to the surface they were on. One was on a TiVo box and the other was sitting on a wooden bookcase. I am assuming that they should be replaced. Has anyone seen this happen and what was your outcome? thanks

I don't think they melted, but the rubber turned from a solid substance into something tarry and nasty. Just clean it up and replace it with some replacement rubber pads you can find at places that sell hardware (you know, screws and such) or dollar stores.

I remember once putting on my favorite headphones and then having an itch on one of my ears later, as I was listening. Scratching my ear, I then saw that my finger was covered in a black substance. I couldn't figure out where it had come from--my ear canal?--until I realized, as I experimented around, that the foam cushions on the headphones had destabilized and, upon being placed against my ears, partially had collapsed into the petroleum product from which they originally had come. It was like having the La Brea Tar Pits* against my ears.
