I restored my disk from the dvrbars backup someone sent me last week. I installed it onto a new disk with a full restore. The tivo booted up fine, and started recording stuff. The guide data disappeared (again), and I tried rebooting it, which has worked for another tivo I have.

To my surprise, every recording on the disk disappeared. It has a bunch of stuff on the todo list, but if you look at the history, every video it recorded was deleted because the space was needed for another recording.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I restore the image again? Is there something else I should try? Should I get a different image?

You don't mention it but did you do a Clear and Delete Everything? That's usually required when restoring an image.
