Recently bought the slide remote for out new Tivo XL Hd. I have a Toshiba TV (Regza 42HL167), and a POLK Soundbar. What I noticed is, when I program the slide remote, I have to do "All or nothing" with the TV (ie. Power button, Input, Volume). By doing this, if I program my polk soundbar, then when I hit the volume up on the tivo slide remote, it turns up the TV and Soundbar volume. I want the TV volume to be left at 0.
Is my only option here to NOT program the TV with the slide remote (ie. not being able to use power/input buttons) just to be able to use the volumes associated with the polk soundbar?
Like tunarollz said, you should be able to use the learning feature of the Slide to program the Power and Input buttons to your TV codes and the Volume buttons for the soundbar.
You should also be able to turn off your TV's speakers entirely from within the TV's menus. My audio runs through an a/v receiver so that's how I deal with the adjusting both volumes issue.
