Hello!

After reading several pages of the official eSata post and several of the lockup posts I was curious to the sucess rate of people upgrading thier S3 units with the 500G WD enclosure (WDG1S5000N) and recommended cable (CB-SA0211-S1 ) . I am consdiering this upgrade but wanted to know what the rate of sucess was..

I don't believe the WDG1C5000N is the drive/enclosure discussed in the eSata upgrade faq. That drive doesn't even have an eSata port. Did you mean the "DVR Expander" (WDG1S5000N)?

eSata upgrade went fine no issues. WD 1TB + Antec MX-1 using stock eSata cable.

I installed the HD, connected via eSata, did KS 62 and it's been working fine for the past week with no issues. No reboots, no GSOD, nadda.

yes...meant WDG1S5000N...
