Tivo Series 2 freezes

Every so often, and more often of late, my series 2 freezes, apparently at the end of a recording, with a picture onscreen that I cannot change or get rid of. It accepts no commands and my only option is to cut power and restart the unit. This always works just fine, but of course TiVo must go through its entire setup process before I can use it again. Any thoughts on what might be causing this and what I can do about it?

Sounds like your hard disc is dying. I'd look into the upgrade forum or tips on how to replace the hard drive. I recommend sooner rather than later. One of your power reboots sequences might end in a constant "Welcome, please wait..." screens.

Uh oh, that's not good. Even worse considering I just added a 2nd hard drive from Weaknees a few months ago.
