When changing channels with the remote or when recording, there's a 3 min to 15 min delay. This started happening recently and does not happen all the time.

If I change the channel with the remote, my TV screen goes black and the TiVo banner comes up saying the channel has changed. It says black until eventually the channel (on the cable box) actually changes.

When recording, the TiVo starts recording on the previous channel and then 3 to 15 min later, the channel actually changes.

What are you changing the channel with? Have you done GS for your cable/satellite box and successfuly configured the IR blaster?

The box has been up and running since Oct 9, 2000. The problem occurs when changing the channel with my xantech URC-2 or TiVo remote and also occurs when TiVo is changing the channel itself to start recording.

That's a very long delay. Have you tried restarting your TiVo DVR?

I've restarted and the problem has seem to gone away.
