Are you sure they were sold or could they have been xfer somewhere, like back to TiVo or another store.I noticed my local Best Buy has blown through a large stack of premieres in the past week at $79....ive never seen so many of them sold before.
The Best Buy in my area has been running a special that gives you a Premier for free with the purchase of a ClearStream2 antenna at $105. Hard to beat free (if you were going to get the antenna anyway), but I am not sure that counted the same as sales. Most companies offer free two day shipping and some do add it the week before Christmas. It would not cost them much to include this the last week before a holiday. Businesses that ship a lot do get big discounts on shipping.Data to back this up or is this yet more expert armchair analysis?
Even with volume discounts two day shipping on a larger and heavier item like a TiVo is still twice the cost of ground or more. They are already losing money on the Premiere. No point in losing more money just for two day shipping. And a few days before Christmas there is still no guarantee it will get there in two days.
