I'm a noob here and can't currently use the search so pardon my questions.

I have a Dish 322 dual TV receiver I'm currently using with a Series 2 SA Tivo through the analog input / outputs. I want to upgrade to an S3 or HD simply because I want a unit that doesn't use IDE hard drives. Since my main Seagate drive in my Series 2 just failed and Seagate has announced they will end production of IDE hard drive at the end of this year. So what good is a 5 year drive warranty if they don't have any IDE drives?

I really don't care about HD at this point since I don't have an HDTV ... yet. Yet the FAQ for the S3/HDF says they don't "Support" satellite.

Does this mean they won't support satellite AT ALL even through the analog ports? In other words they can't even control the dish receiver or utilize the Tivo programming? Or what? I'm confused.

Thanks for your help.
