I have a question, in which year was the software/firmware for ROAMIO OTA updated so it won’t record manually selected OTA programs without subscription?
I am posing the question because recently I got a ROAMIO OTA unit. Its 4 tuners are working, and the tuners can be tuned to OTA channels. And while the unit is on the channel, the content is buffered on the hard drive. But, if one wants to store the program for future viewing, it gives the message “subscription required”.
knowing the date of the introduction of the restriction, would enable me to buy. “For parts” ROAMIO which hopefully is old enough not to have been “updated”.
