I am really stuck here and could use some tech help. I recently upgrade my WIFI network at home to a TPLINK X20 MESH network system. Strangely enough, I can no longer connect my ROAMIO series 5 via WIFI if I add any security. What I have to do is temporarily open the network and connect. I can make a conncection and download the programming data. Then I secure my network again.

Although it is a workaround it is a real pain. The ROAMIO simply does not connect via WPA2-PSK AES. I keep getting error C206. I have special characters in the password so I will check whether that is causing the issue. However, I believe it has to do with how the ROAMIO handles encryption. Note, I have a TIVO bolt connected to the same network and it handles WPA2-PSK AES encryption fine. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't have wired or MOCA connection options based on where the DVR is located. WIFI is my only option. I have also reached out to TPLINK and am trying to work with them. Thanks.

The pro-TiVo corporate solution is to move the Roamio to where it *can* be wired, and buy a new Mini LUX and TiVo WiFi 5 USB adapter for the wireless location.

That said, depending on the Roamio version, using a wireless bridge to provide the Roamio with its network connection might be worthwhile to enable more reliable streaming b/w the Roamio and BOLT, and the bridge might improve the connection for other devices co-located.

One downside of that, if isolation is used for the "guest" network, is that the BOLT and Roamio wouldn't be able to stream or transfer content between each other. (And there'd likely be issues w/ the TiVo mobile app if that is used by the OP.)

Thanks very much. I was able to move a Deco X20 beacon near enough to the Roamio Plus. Now with a long Cat 6 cable I am using Ethernet only. The TP link Deco X20 beacons tend to interfere with each other horizontally if they are to close to each other. This slows down my WiFi Speeds dramatically.

I didn't want to set up a Guest network as I transfer programs from the Bolt in my living room. Also, the only form of security compatible with the TP Link is no security and I didn't want a guest network with no security (even with me hiding the SSID). I did reach out to TP Link support directly and reported my experience in granular detail. Hopefully, they will come up with a fix. Note, I have tried Eero, Orbi, and a Verizon Fios E3100 Mesh/WiFi 6 routers with my Roamio Plus with no problems. The TPLink Deco X20 security settings are just not compatible with the Roamio Plus WiFi adapter. Thanks again for your help
