75% of my viewing is network TV, which was perfect on my TiVo Bolt (and now, Edge). With TiVo out of the hardware business, what viable alternatives are there for managing and watching your current TV lineup?

I had Dish's DVR for a while, and it was fine, but that doesn't work with cable.

My cable DVR (Xfinity) is incredibly unresponsive and I don't think I could live with using it on a daily basis.

Xfinity Stream let's me watch network shows through their app, but if you wait too many weeks, episodes may not continue to be available. And if you are watching through streaming services, it seems like the onus is entirely on you to keep track of what shows you want to watch and when new episodes come out.

If you are happy with what you currently have, continue to use it. While there is no assurance that TiVo will continue in business for a long time (there is no such assurance for any company), wait until your TiVo no longer works for you, and look at your alternatives then (they will almost certainly be different).

Definitely many threads so you might want to check those out. TiVo will be around for awhile so I wouldn’t worry about it if your current setup is in good shape.

That said if all you view is the big 4 they are available from Directv for 39.99 in several markets. This is a new package with no fees. They also include cable news channels & unlimited dvr (recordings last 9 months). Directv stream is the best option for former TiVo customers imo. Has a real remote & that TiVo feel. They have many packages so it’s something to look into. Some prefer YouTube tv etc. Just have to compare. Good luck.
