Particularly two shows, American Dad and Family Guy. Last night I deleted all the 1x1 Family Guy recorded episodes and right now I see three more I must delete. It happens with other shows too but most often with these two. Only solution I found was to delete the OnePass entry and manually record new episodes. It looks like the bug would fill up drives of users not carefully watching what's recorded. I notice that nPVR ignores these 1x1 shows that don't have the S&E. My provider is Spectrum. Is there a solution for my Tivo XL4?

I do note that Spectrum has an arrangement with Tivo, renting Tivo products while Spectrum has no such agreement with nPVR. This Tivo duplilcation error might be intentional by Spectrum to force Spectrum Tivo rental customers in for an upgrade.

Its called generic guide data. It will record these shows, 'just in case, you missed it'

It can be reduced in the pass options, "Start from Season" >1, when you have Record: 'New Only' set.

OnePass has start from Season 16, New Only. Perhaps these scheduled recordings, the four today of 1x1, were previously set. I had modified the OnePass the other day to new only. I've deleted all the scheduled recordings for the next 12 days for all Family Guide 1x1 not having season or episode data in the guide. I'll watch for further scheduled recordings of the no data programs because I think I may have tried this already. When the schedule doesn't show ANY season or episode data it may possibly get recorded as 'new' by mistake.
---------------

Earlier today while canceling the Family Guy 1x1 multiple programs for the next 12 days, I noticed a scheduled recording of Bull 1x1 so just now I looked a the Bull OnePass and it is set for New only but starting from Season 1. So, perhaps the 'mistake' isn't about New Only but Starting from Season 1?

I do this with my NCIS passes. I set it for the current season and the only repeats are from this season. No shows with generic guide data.

I'll keep a watch for more of the no series no episode data recordings and will report anything new. I'd go thru my OnePass entries but it needs pruning at 184 entries. Must say, I'm impressed by the XL4 functionality with repeated hard drive upgrades. Really a nice piece of gear.
