Tivo Premiere Q

Is there any realistic chance this thing will be release to the public? I have a movie room in our house with no cable outlet, and just want to stream from my Elite our recorded shows. Right now I have a regular premiere doing the job, but I'd love something without a hard drive.

The Q and the Elite are pretty much the same thing.
Q being the cable co version
Elite being the consumer version

The Preview is probably what you are asking about.
There is no news indicating it will will be released to the consumer market.
Just get a Roku, it does the streaming, no hard drive or subscription. It does Hulu, Netflix, youtube, etc.

It doesn't stream content recorded on your TiVos. I think that is what the OP is referring to.
My apologies, I had my product names mixed up. I should have asked about the TiVo Preview, the box that just streams your recording from an Elite/Q.

As for the Roku, excellent suggestion and I do own one, I'm looking for an easier way to stream my recordings to another room without having to run a full premiere with subscription.

Thanks everyone!
4 tuners and still a tiny 500 gig HD.

The Preview doesn't have a hard drive only flash storage.

If you're talking about the elite (or Q) it comes with a 2TB hard drive.

The Q comes with a 500GB drive at RCN.
I just started trying out KMTTG...Tivo To Go Made Easy...

It may get you to where you want to be.

It can automatically copy shows from your Tivo, convert them to a compatible format and put them in a folder you specify.

Might work perfectly with your Roku...

Check it out.

This will only work for shows which are not protected. The cool thing about streaming feature TiVo just released is that it can bypass the copy protection since it's not actually "copying" anything.

I did say "may"...
which cable co's are going to offer the Q?
I think RCN is already and Charter might be in a couple of markets.
