Not 100% sure what you are saying, does your sound bar have a separate volume control that is controllable with a remote or is it controlled by the TV's volume control? In any event your TiVo's remote can only control the volume on one device. I use mine to control the volume on my Onkyo receiver without issues.I have a Tivo Prem and have it set to my Samsung UN55D8000 and Samsung Sound bar HW-D450. The remote runs the TV well but I can not get the volume on the soundbar to work. I tried all the codes I could find but nothing. Should they all work together?

I want the Tivo remote to run both TV and soundbar. Right now I have the remote running TV. Works great. Turned speaker off on TV and tried to set the volume mute to soundbar with holding Mute, Tivo buttons and trying al codes. Still soundbar isn't programed to the tivo remote. It still doesn't work with everything. My XL remote would not work with my Sony speaker bar. I tried it with two XL remotes and neither would work with it. So far that is the only receiver or TV I've used that the TiVo remote would not control.The standard Tivo peanut remote cannot control all devices. The upgraded backlighted and the tivo slide remotes are both learning and can learn the codes for devices not in the database. Suggest picking up a premium backlighted remote or one of the slide remotes.
