I’m in the NYC market and use Fios for cable. On certain channels notably my local CBS and NBC stations the live audio like on news SNL music performers, not the rest of the show, sound like it’s being broadcast through a tin can . This happens on different receivers so it’s not them. I believe it’s how TiVo somehow processes the audio. Anyone else experiencing this?

I run my Roamio through a Yamaha AVR in 5.1 mode. I just finished watching last night's SNL and heard no audio problems. I receive all my HD channels in DD 5.1 if they start that way. Some of Comedy Central and HBO is DD 2.0.

@Brian Flaherty which TiVo model do you have and how is it connected to your TV and/or sound system?
