tivo not changing channels

Two issues, may be connected.
1. I have a Series2 that no longer recognizes my digital cable box. I am ok on the channels <100, but the channels that need to go through the box aren't changing(Tivo changes, not the box), have to use cable remote.
2. All of the channels on the Tivo guide now are doubled. I have checked the list in settings and it is correct(only 1 check mark per channel).
Any ideas? FYI-My husband said he rolled over on the remote, could he have pushed a button accidently that is causing the double listings?

These issues did not start at the same time.
Thanks for any help

It occurs to me that you might need to go through guided setup again to straighten out that double channel thing, and I can't think of what accidental key presses could have caused it, so you can let him out of the doghouse:).

Before you do anything else, drill down through the menus until you get to "Restart the TiVo DVR" and do that, and after you press the thumbs down 3 times and are about to press "enter", be ready to unplug the power cord from the wall socket/UPS as soon as you do press enter and the screen goes blank.

Let it sit for a few minutes, then plug it back in.

If you've still got the problem, then you can go through GS again. You'll need for the cable box to be feeding a video signal into the TiVo when you do.
OK thanks. Have gone through the setup for channel lists 3 times but have not tried guided setup yet. Will try the restart tivo now
Are you sure your blaster is working?
I should have thought of that, and it certainly should be checked, but it wouldn't explain the double channel listings.

Yeah, I don't know how you could do that if you wanted too. Hopefully someone will know should be interesting.

Radio Shack used to offer an IR detector card, sort of like credit card but longer and not as tall, with a target area at one end, and I think MCMaudio still does.

Also, if you have a piece of red, translucent plastic, you can hold it in front of the LED emitter and see a little glow when it "emits". Also, some electronic camera viewfinders apparently can see it as well.

You might be able to aim it at a piece of opaque red plastic and see some light as well, I'll have to test that.

I was refering to the double channel thing, I don't see how that could happen. On testing blaster I remember seeing something about using a digital camera.

Just watch the emitter LEDs on your blaster cable through the viewfinder of a digital camera while it's changing channels. You will see them flash if it's working.

 My channels weren't changing and I replaced the blaster. Seems to have worked.
I wonder if she has a DT and just know noticed it lists channel for coax and converter when it has both.
