Question, I have a tivo mini in my basement, hdmi running thru conduit to a TV on my patio. I had thought the original mini had Bluetooth and there was a shot it might work as the tivo is only about 10 feet away (just with concrete between)

I'm reading now the original mini doesn't have Bluetooth? I could try an IR repeater which talks rf but then I think the mini can also do rf.

I also have a mini vox I can steal from the kids if that's a better option. Currently I'm using the Tivo app on my phone to control the tivo.

Suggestions on best approach? Thanks.

The original Mini can be upgraded to RF control using the associated USB dongle for whatever remote you go with ... whether RF4CE (v2 Mini, Roamio, early BOLT) or BLE (VOX/LUX) -- though you'd want to stick with RF4CE if running the older TE3 UI.

e.g.:
eBay would likely offer cheaper alternatives; or just swap devices as you suggested.

Good call Re: trying the VOX, if only to test the BLE connectivity. Have you been able to RF pair your VOX Remote with your Mini VOX running the older TE3 UI?

As for your older Mini, what does your existing older Mini look like? Is the "TiVo Mini" centered on the front (IR/RF A93/v2 Mini) or shifted to the left (original, IR-only A92/v1 Mini)?

It's the mini with the text to the left I have connected now.
I will check the mini vox tomorrow and see how the remote is paired. Iirc with my bolt, blue light on remote = Bluetooth, Yellow = RF, red = IR. Same with vox mini? I haven't had to mess with this stuff for a long time thankfully but my memory is fuzzy.
