I have the Mini in the bedroom and at night sometimes the remote backlight will light up even though TV is off and no one is using the remote. I’m guessing this will drain the batteries faster than normal. How/why is this backlight being activated ?

I have a regular TiVo and use a TiVo LUX and it also lights up for no reason. At first I thought it was from loud passages with lots of bass turning it on, but I just saw it lit on the couch and no one is on the couch. Odd that it does that on its own. It is a problem however while watching movies. I'll be watching a movie and it lights up for no reason at all hense being distracting.

Yup. I see mine doing it in the middle of the night for no visible reason... nothing is visible except the remote because its dark! ;) I wonder if the old backlight off key sequence that worked with the old GLO remote will turn it off? Ill give that a try.

Yes... it did work.

To turn the backlight off: Press and hold the TIVO and the THUMBS DOWN buttons until the activity light blinks three times, and then press CLEAR.
To turn the backlight on: Press and hold the TIVO and the THUMBS UP buttons until the activity light blinks three times, and then press ENTER.

Great so that turns off the backlight function completely vs fixing what causes the remote backlight to turn on?Thanks, but still wonder what triggers to turn on in the first place. Don
