For the last few months they keep reverting to old names and I'm not sure why. I go online and change them back (it takes a day or two to go through) but in about 2 or 3 weeks it changes them back again.

Has anyone come across this? Is there a way to fix it without a customer service call? Will a customer service call even help?

I've fixed it three times so far. Can't say whether it will happen again, I suppose I'll know in a couple of weeks.

Usually happens in September with new lineups.

Called CS and they said this is a known issue and it has been escalated. No known time for it it be fixed but they will e-mail me when there is an update.

Device names got changed on their own.

I have the same problem with two of my Tivo units having their names changed every month on or around the 13th of the month. The two get renamed to other names that I have used on old Tivo units that have been dead for years. This has been happening for me for at least a year and a half and probably longer. I opened an issue with Tivo a year ago and have not heard any word on this problem being resolved.

Guess we will call this a bump. 2 years later same problem still. Fun part is having a unit named after the X. Thanks for rubbing it in TiVo.
