Thank you for the greatest PVR on the market. Although it has problems on an intermittent basis, it serves my purpose just fine.
Im sure TiVo wont mind shipping you a S3 logodebest said:I love my TiVo too. I just wish it had a bigger hard drive, and two tuners, and had a "Series 3" on it....
Now, if you can just do that in your best Eric Cartman voice, I think we've got a new TiVo commercial figured out. Others:evilipoo said:"Oh, why don't you just go to the web and schedule that show from here? Oh that's right, you don't have that kind of technology, do you?"
Heck, I want my *Tivos* to talk to a big server.robomeister said:Now if only I could figure out how to get my DVD collection onto a big server (will have to be multi terabyte)...
*LOL* I do a GREAT Cartman!!! Scuze me while I have some cheesy poofs...ChuckyBox said:Now, if you can just do that in your best Eric Cartman voice, I think we've got a new TiVo commercial figured out. Others:
"Why don't you just transfer that from the DVR in the other room to the one in here? Oh, wait, you can't do that can you?"
"Why don't you just transfer those shows to your laptop and we'll watch them on the road? Oh, I forgot, you can't do that with your cable DVR, can you?"
"Hey, pull up the local movie listings and we'll find a flick to go to. What, you can't do that on your TV? Oh, that's right, you don't have TiVo."
Et cetera, et cetera, ad nauseam.
You can do this today with standalone TiVos using TiVoToGo, and tools like Galleon or TVHarmony AutoPilot which will automatically suck shows off the TiVo to the server. Set all the recordings so none are KUID and they'll push off the TiVo as needed.mattack said:Heck, I want my *Tivos* to talk to a big server.
Dream scenario: Each Tivo has a relatively small drive locally to make recordings to, then automatically moves the recordings to the server. If the server is full, it keeps the recordings locally. (Bonus points -- the Tivos talk to each other and the server to do cooperative scheduling so I have one SP list for all Tivos and it just figures everything out, I don't have to manually set up non-conflicting SPs on each machine.)
I'm not talking about using a PC (generically -- really I'd want to use a Mac).megazone said:You can do this today with standalone TiVos using TiVoToGo, and tools like Galleon or TVHarmony AutoPilot which will automatically suck shows off the TiVo to the server.
