I got my son a Tivo HD but I have a question about the remote, the former peanut remotes had a "List" button that let you go directly to "My Playing List" is there no direct way to go there with the new remote?

FYI - No they didn't. There has never been a dedicated button on any TiVo peanut remote that took you straight to the NPL.

WRONG!

As mentioned, the Directv/Tivo remotes had this button. I am looking at it right now :D

I was speaking of Tivo remotes.
The direcTV units with Tivo are no more Tivos than the motorola boxes with tivo software will be Tivos.
Hmm, the box has a TiVo guy on the front. The screen has a TiVo guy on the menu. The box was made by TiVo. The remote was made in the same factory in Korea where all the peanut remotes come from. How is that not a TiVo?

Is my Pioneer DVD-recorder TiVo not really a TiVo either, since it was made by Pioneer in Japan? The remote has buttons like "DVD Menu" on it that are not on a standalone remote. And that remote was made in the same factory as the other peanuts.

And why do the remotes from my "fake TiVos" operate a plain old Series 2 if they are not really TiVo remotes?

Its a TiVo powered DVD recorder, like the DirecTV DVRs are TiVo powered. It running TiVo software, and yes, should respond to the List command. They are mostly all TiVo "peanut" remotes, as they have mostly all elected to use them.

What are you talking about?

The Directv/Tivo units are still the very best for Sat that any producer ever brought out! If the Directv/Tivo units are not Tivo units like you say... then why do we even talk about them on this Forum?

Also, my Directv/Tivo remote also controls my SA Tivo, but I guess that must not be a Tivo either...

You really do need to get a grip on reality. Like in your Post where you asked for help, shot down everyone that tried to aid you, then deleted all your own postings to cover things up. Yes you know which Post I speak of. The one the Forum Moderators closed because of your actions and words!

Have a nice Day :D

I purchased my first two DirecTiVo's at Circuit City and signed up and paid for for Lifetime Service with TiVo, Inc.

I later helped "user beta test" the activation of the second tuner in these DirecTiVo boxes (mine happened to be Sony SAT-T60 units).

I worked with TiVo, Inc., support folks to resolve a problem with my lifetime service.

Later, DirecTV and TiVo agreed to have DirecTV handle all customer-facing activation, billing and support for DirecTiVo units.

BTW, every TiVo remote in my house has a List button, including Sony remotes and TiVo Peanut remotes.

IMHO, the DirecTiVo unit offered many advantages over a stand-alone TiVo, such as dual tuners with simultaneous direct-digital recording, including Dolby Digital 5.1 audio when provided on the DirecTV channel being recorded.
