TiVo HD EAS Messages Never Go Away

I know that the TiVo must switch to every EAS Emergency Message test, and that's fine. My problem is that if I'm not watching TV for one of them, the next time I turn my TV on (which could be a week later), it is STILL on the channel that the EAS was on and STILL showing it! I have pressed every button, waited (hours) and NOTHING- it won't go away or let me do anything. The only option that I have found is to just unplug my TiVo and let it restart.

Has anyone else had this problem with the Emergency Alert messages not going away and essentially rendering the TiVo useless until unplugging and replugging it back in?

I didn't know the Tivo changed channels for the EAS. I thought the cable company or TV Station (OTA) put the message on each channel. So to answer your question, no, not me...

Are you using cable? I wonder if it can be a bad cable card since they seem to cause weird problems...

This happens pretty much just on cable with a cable card. Try pressing CLEAR a few times, I read that fixes it.
