I think the room decor should be considered. Also, which one will show greasy fingers more. 
Tivo Glo Remote - Black or White
I am finally ready to get a Tivo Glo Remote. Should I get black or white? What is your preference? Which shows up better in the darK?

Having only had the black, but wanting to comment nonetheless, I would have to be adamant that you avoid the white variant at all costs! For the sake of your children, Jack, don't give in! For God's sake, man! It's white! WHITE!
...(regaining composure)...uh, well, actually. I was thinking about a new remote myself, with a new Tivo being on the way and all, and was considering the white one myself. It just seems like...man, $50.00 for a new color? That might also potentially blight my living room? You can get the black ones cheaper on eBay, is all I'm saying. I still haven't decided. Maybe I never will...

Seems to me that this is one of the really rare issues on this forum: a pure black or white issue.
Have the black one that comes with the S3 in the living room, but recently bought the white one for the THD in the bedroom.
My logic was that sometimes in my absent-mindedness, I'll walk around with a remote in my hand and set it down in an arbitrary place. This way, I can tell the living room remote from the bedroom remote by sight.
They both seem to show up equally well in the dark.

How cheap can you get them on ebay? I've never seen a white one in person. I'll bet they look cool.
There are actually 3 versions: Black with grey trim (comes with Series3), Black with chrome trim (Glo-remote), and the new white one.

As for how much they go for on eBay, unless you're lucky, you probably will only save $5-10. They always seem to think it's okay to price-gouge on shipping. Jerk-wads.
