Thanks--I've been wondering about this, but with TiVo reps. rarely posting here nowadays, hadn't seen anything here and hadn't gotten around to asking.*
This coming Sunday, February 2, is the day TV fans wait all year for. Sure, the big game's great and all, but for those who tune in for the multi-million-dollar commercials and the world's biggest halftime show, we've got the perfect solution: TiVo GameSkip. After recording the big game, look for the on-screen SKIP icon next to the recording. Then hit play, press the SKIP button and your TiVo will jump to the beginning of the next commercial break! Kind of makes you want to give us a high-five, right?
* Funny but, shouldn't this be the sort of thing that TiVo sends out as TiVo box Messages? I guess some people received it, but others, no (I didn't). Though the company seems capable of sending me TiVo Stream 4K marketing messages there, for a product that does not yet exist.

Nashville Comcast market here.... is anyone else’s guide for Fox messed up...? Mine has said “Upcoming: Super Bowl LIV Postgame “ for two days now... the entire schedule for the whole day says that. Also after getting the message on my box for recording the game....I cannot as the listing does not show the game.... just the postgame show thusly the recording fails.... using the box and the app. What an utter failure. Perhaps just my market...? Did a connection update no change.

Sounds like an issue with your local FOX affiliate screwing up their guide data - I have Tivo's on both Comcast & OTA from 2 markets; all my FOX SB listings are updated correctly & the same.

So, I'm wondering: as a business matter, does TiVo earn anything either directly or indirectly from Fox/advertisers through GameSkip? First, it encourages viewers to watch the commercials; and second, because of GameSkip, viewers can't skip the commercials through SkipMode/AutoSkip (although the commercials still may be sped through via FF and Advance).

Quite ingenious if TiVo does, if you think of it. ;)

Game skip never appeared or worked for me either. Recorded Game on a Roamio.. I've had Tivo's since the Tivo Model 1 days and I worry about Tivo not lasting due to being bought out and all of their Intellectual property being spun off and monetized by the new owners while Tivo itself dies a slow death

Well, the "good" news is: TiVo has been bought out (by the company Xperi; being referenced as a "merger"), although the deal is not expected to close until the second quarter of this year. TiVo to Merge With Entertainment-Tech Firm Xperi in $3 Billion Deal And nothing is being spun-off by TiVo in this--it's a total package merger.
