Hey, I have been struggling for two full days. I installed videoredo tv6 suite because it is touted as a decent ad remover.
I get an error everytime the ts download finishes and the kick off of videoredo is to run. see errors below. I have assured I run as administrator, and change various options in ktmmg but nothing works. I have not modified any videoredo options, as I do not see any that pertains.
here is the kmttg options I have checked.
in config: enable videoredo use videoredo adscan use videoredo GUI to review detected commercials. bring up videoredo gui to make manual cuts.

on main ktmmg screen checked ts download, metadata, decrypt, ad detect, and adcut

I am just trying to get the download from the tivo and apply ad removal.
I believe this may be the "smoking gun" but I know nothing about JAVA

Points to a problem in the kmttg script. The interface name for v6 is...

Are you trying to download tivo files, decrypt them ,then remove ads with one operation via kmttg?
If so. Try downloading tivo files with only decrypt checked.
I seem to recall some having problem with the TS box checked.

that one option just downloads the file to mpeg. The videoredo will not kick off and edit out commercials with just that box checked.

I don't know much about kmttg. I know there was an effort by some users to update the scripts to support v6, but I'm not sure if you need to set an option somewhere or if you need a different version.

FYI pyTivo Desktop supports VideoReDo v6. I wrote that myself, so I know it works.

Yes. That is correct.
That's the only way I've found to remove tivo files that could be edited.
I then load and edit them one at at time in videoredo and do the editing manually.

I have never found joy using the automated commercial edit tool in videoredo, or kmttg.
I used the QS Fix for a while but, it too created more problems than it fixed.

Yes at the very bottom of the Download tab in settings. You have to wait a minute for it to fill in as it has to check that you actually have VideoReDo installed before it shows the options.

Thanks again for your help. I have two computers one is windows 10 and one is windows 7 premium. The Pytivo screen populated properly on windows 10 but not on windows 7. gave up on trying to figure out why. So far my results were so poor with the ad scan that I am dropping the quest for good results. Probably do videoredo manually and adjust where the problems are. Or just save my tivo shows off of my Roamio to claim the drive space back, and live with the commercials. Not really a big deal, I was just hoping to automate the download and eliminate the commercials in one easy step.

When I download shows that have "skip" on them (save them for the future upload) , and then reload them back to the Roamio I lose the skip function and I believe that's just the way it is, and nothing can be done about it. Am I wrong?

In v6 we have ad scan profiles. One feature that can help a lot, that is not enabled by default, is audio processing. A lot of videos will switch from 5.1ch to 2.0ch for commercials so that alone is enough to detect the commercials.
