Below is from Tivo.com "Knowledge" Base

Can someone possibly please guide me to doing the underlined/bolded below?
Xfinity Tech Support is now no longer reachable via anything but an automated service.
I can get into my router (Xfinity) settings, but see no way to check individual ports
YES, - I am quite uninformed when it comes to such tinkering.
Thank you for any guidance,
Jill

Problem with the network. (C222)

If you set up your own DNS server (not common), verify that it is running and is properly configured. You may want to restart it. Otherwise, try again in a few minutes, and if you continue to experience this problem contact your Internet Service Provider.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Wait for 10 - 20 minutes, and then force a connection to the TiVo service.
2. If applicable, move your wireless adapter to improve signal strength.
3. Verify that the IP addresses and ports needed to connect to the TiVo service are not blocked. NOTE: If you need assistance, please contact the router manufacturer. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: If you are in a dorm or apartment using provided Internet service, contact the dorm or apartment IT department. Ask them to add your TiVo's MAC to the allowed list, and verify all necessary ports have been opened. Also verify you do not need a password to connect to the Internet.
4. Powercycle your network, and then force a connection to the TiVo service.
5. See General Network Troubleshooting Tips.

I appreciate your input very much.
I sat down with the TiVo and a computer right in front of me, removed ALL firewalls, tried connecting several times- same result.
It appears it can connect, but not download.

Been working with overseas for two months. They just say anything to move the call along. They have escalated issue, yes.
Received a call a month ago whereby they said it was fixed, but apparently that was for anyone with same issue, but did nothing to solve the problem on my end.

A Kickstart 58 or 57 might be helpful.

Also, sometimes the Guide issues clear themselves up after time. I'd guess it's related to when the 'old' data has passed from time.

Also, there's been reports of rebooting the Router helping as well as forcing an IP Address change.

There's a possibility a Hard Reset of your Router could solve it.

Thank you KP, I will try the above suggestions.
I am currently (on the advice of Weaknees) performing a Kickstart 54, it has been working for almost 20 hours- no error yet, I am not confident this will being me any remedy.
Thank you again!

I would like to examine fiddling with my router's settings- can anyone please guide me thru this?
I am not comfortable with many of the terms I am reading.
For instance - when I look at my Xfinity gateway I see 3 Tivos and I only have two.
I do not know how to get rid of the third (non-existent one) but now am wondering if this is the cause of all my problems in connecting...
(wishful thinking I know)

Do you have a Roamio Plus or Pro? The extra TiVo would be the built-in Stream module, if so.

edit: "Stream"!

Not to dissuade, but I don't see any description of your setup. What devices do you have and how are they connected? What software version is running on your TiVo's?

I do not have a Stream. I have two Roamios.
The one I am having trouble with is caught in a repeated guided set=up, so I can not answer about the specifics. I will look at my account to get the info you asked for.
