TiVo Premiere TCD758250, which I replaced my failed 2TB drive with a 6TB WD Red Plus (so CMR) ~3 months ago. Image was TCD758250-20.7.4B.RC3-4TB, and I did the expand as per usual procedure. Current software version says 20.7.4d.RC15-758-2-758.

Earlier today all was normal, but after recording and watching a ~3hr game, I want back to my shows and all shows are gone. Recently deleted recordings is empty. In history, the shows that were previously there now say "Not Recorded / Unknown Problem / Info: The show was not recorded because of an unknown reason (R115)". Recording capacity currently says up to 961 HD hours, and free disk space up to 957 HD hours.

This is the second time this has happened, but the first time I was away and didn't catch the details. It did for a while not want to record new recordings as if there wasn't space for them. I thought maybe it was a bug/feature with the software upgrade, but haven't found similar issues posted.

Ideas?

Any time you use an image or drive from another TiVo you need to run Clear & Delete Everything to "marry" the drive to the motherboard. Otherwise all recordings will be lost every time it reboots for any reason. It sounds like that's what happening, but overuse of KUID can also cause it in rare cases.

Usually it will also show all zeros for the TiVo Serial Number in the System Information screen until you run C&DE.

THANK YOU! Looks like C&DE (Clear and Delete Everything) did the trick. What I did:
  1. Recorded a show - confirmed it was present in recordings and working
  2. Restarted TiVo - observed the TiVo recording has disappeared in the same way as my prior incidents. So, now I believe a TiVo restart is a trigger in the shows disappearing.
  3. Checked and captured (took pic) TiVo info screens, OnePass list of shows
  4. Did C&DE followed by all the setup
  5. Recorded a show - confirmed it was present in recordings and working
  6. Restarted TiVo - observed the TiVo recording is available
I'm guessing I missed the C&DE in my initial setup of the new disk, but glad to have it working now. I'll do a few more restarts over the next few days just to be sure, but from how you describe the issue, it looks like the problem is identified and fixed. 10x super-thanks!

FYI - my TiVo Service Number/serial number was present in the system info screen and not zeros before the C&DE.

That's interesting. I miss the old days when when a mismatched drive would cause multiple Error 51 messages to pop up.
