I just bought a new Bolt Vox (LOVE it). I have a Series 3 HD hooked up. Both are OTA only. Both are hooked up hard wired. Both connect to Tivo service just fine. The Bolt, streaming is no issue.

I noticed on the Series 3, it sees my bolt and allows me to transfer shows from my Bolt. I can't see the Series 3 on my Bolt. The message says, is not connected. I also looked at my Tivo Desktop. I can transfer from my S3 to desktop. With the Bolt I get the error "There was an error while attempting to retreive the data from selected DVR. The network connection was aborted by the local system."

Any ideas?

If the Bolt is running TE4/Hydra/whatever you want to call the latest Operating System (OS), it won't take "pushes" or transfers from a computer or another TiVo.

You should be able to "grab" shows from a TiVo Bolt using desktop software (PyTiVo or kmttg). As TiVo doesn't support TiVo Desktop anymore, I'm not sure that software can even see a Bolt or know what to do with one.

If you have a Bolt OTA, you're locked into running TE4 and TE3 TE4 can't see below Series 4 TiVos, IIRC, locally or online. Plenty of messages on these things since TE4 first arrived.

Regarding TiVo Desktop, I thought that the certificates expired. Did you find and replace them? Have you tried PyTiVo Desktop?

FYI you can still transfer TiVo to TiVo in TE4 if you use online.tivo.com to initiate the transfer.
Nope (with qualifiers). ;)

I put this into GOOGLE: te4 Series 3 "Online Transfer" site:tivocommunity.com

and the first hit is: Having transfer issues between Roamio and Series 3 HD

See Post #4.

Edit: Typo
