Tivo Bolt just displays black screen on recordings!

Help!

I’ve had my bolt crash semi-frequently when starting a new recording and it tries to play the stupid streaming ad, which happened tonight.

I’ve also had my bolt display nothing but a black screen on all recordings, but rebooting it has always fixed that...but when it came back from the crash, recordings are just black screens. Rebooting it again doesn’t fix it, for the first time ever.

what do I do?!? (And yikes, if I have to replace this I don’t know how...amazon’s FireTV is probably crappy, and neither the edge nor FireTV let me copy shows off like bolt does)

Okay, this is dumb, but a show started recording, switching to the live show made it start displaying video, then switching to a recorded video worked again.

What’s going on?

I just tried kickstart code 58, made it say “installing firmware, doing it power” or something like that, thinking maybe that would help. Maybe I’ll do the hard drive smart test next...

I have the same issue occur on my Mini. When it does I go to live view and back and recording plays. Don't know what the issue is, perhaps the a resolution issue?

Tivo won't rewind or pause live tv on any tuner

I'm kind of glad to hear it, as at least it probably means it's not just me!

My issue is different from how that sounds, though who knows, it could have the same underlying condition or something. Regardless, thanks!

I posted on another thread yesterday... my bolt has been acting extremely slow and before a recording starts I get the blue spinning circle for @ 10-15 seconds. Once the recording starts its smooth sailing. Also I have been having some connection problems with TiVo servers. I have had pre roll disabled for some time... not sure if this has something to do with it but I really don’t think so. I am wondering if current updates are causing this issue because all was well until a few weeks ago. Very annoying!!
