Good morning. I am in the process of researching/converting my Dish Network Hopper/Joey System into a Tivo Bolt/Mini system.

My internet provider is Comcast. I wanted to confirm that the diagrams here: TiVo Wiring Guide showing how to connect my Comcast coax line in, which currently is connected to my cable modem, can simply be split with a splitter to feed both the Tivo Bolt and my cable modem. I have attached a picture of the splitters I happen to have at my disposal, will these suffice, do I need something different? Do I need a Comcast technician to come out? Just to be clear I know this is the wire that comes directly from Comcast, it does not feed the rest of the house.

My house currently has coax from my main tv's Dish Hopper to a Dish splitter in the attic which feeds two different Dish Joey's. Do I need to take the Comcast direct line and feed into this system and then into the Tivo Bolt?

Comcast--> POE filter --> Splitter --> A & B

A= Cable Modem
B= Coax --> Dish Splitter --> C, D, E

C= Tivo Bolt
D= Tivo MINI 1
E= Tivo MINI 2

I also have runs of coax that go all over the place, but I do not have a "correctly" wired house in that the various coax's all feed to one point. This is legacy from the previous owner that relied on an antenna and wired everything himself. It also covers my basement, 1st, 2nd floor, and into the attic - so its not easy to "fix" per-se.

My limited understanding is that this will provide both the internet/signal from the Tivo Bolt (attached to my Ethernet) to two TV Minis. In other words, because of the Dish Wiring, this should be kind of "plug in play"? Is that wrong? Will the Dish Splitter work? Do I need a different splitter? Will any of the attached spitters work?

I also understand that I may need to install a "Point of Entry (PoE) Filter", I believe that this gets installed between the Comcast direct line and the splitter?

Have I got this all figured out? Or am I lost and confused? Is there anything I am missing?

Comcast-->Splitter-->A & B
A = Cable modem
B = POE Filter-->Coax--> Dish Splitter-> C, D, E

This will give the modem a stronger signal. The object is to keep the MoCA network with devices that use it. The cable modem does not (and should not) have a MoCA signal. If I am wrong I'm sure I will be corrected.

Noted. Visited Centralia in August. That place sure has turned into the wild wild west!

If there’s only 1 TV, blocking MoCA might be fine. But, if you’re planning on Mini’s, the MoCA built in to the Comcast Gateway, can be desirable. So, the initial plan might be preferable.
