Am I the only one that watched this? I am going to try to see if a thread per episode works, or if from here on out it should be just one continuing thread.

I have enjoyed this show the last two seasons, and enjoyed last night's episode too.

The judges are good. So much better than on America's Got Talent or American Idol. There is no bickering between judges, and no rude British judge. Ben Folds & Shawn Stockman have been constant through all three seasons, and are very knowledgeable about their craft. This year's new judge, Sara Bareilles, also is very likable. When they criticize a contestant, they are constructive, and they give praise when praise is due.

As for the memorable groups last night:

Delilah Grenade by Bruno Mars

They are an all-girl "super group" made up of girls from several teams over the last two seasons. Their performance gave me chills!

I am one to vote for a single thread for the whole season.

I enjoy this show too. Delilah was the stand-out for me, and I will be rooting for them to win it all.

Maybe the Mods can rename this thread to be a single season thread, since it probably won;t generate enough interest for a thread per episode.

I wasn't that thrilled with Urban Method. I would have preferred an acapella song with a rap break, than a song that is primarily rap with a short sung refrain.

The family group had a compelling back story, but their arrangement wasn't nearly complex enough for the competition.

Overall, the first hour was much stronger than the second, at least for me.

I'm in. Loved this show last season. Urban Method and Afro Blue were my favorites. I was happy to see the guys from Branson go. Too generic.

The only weak part about Delilah is their beat boxer... not very good at all.

I thought Urban Method was sort of like a houseboat. Not a very good house and not a very good boat.

I also agree with this. The Yellow Jackets in the first hour rocked it.

I usually don't like these talent type shows, but this one seems more honest and sincere than most. We've watched all seasons so far.

Good acapella singing is a joy to behold.

I wonder if they tried to get Courtney from last year first, but she was unavailable.

I also didn't have enough tuners to record but you can watch it on free Hulu.

I finally saw the first two episodes. Just wanted to mention about something from the video package for The Cat's Pajamas... They showed them performing back in Branson, MO and the arrangement of Pretty Woman they were performing was a note-for-note ripoff of Rockapella's arrangement. I was glad they got eliminated.

Bump... as mentioned above, this show doesn't seem to be getting any talk on a weekly basis. Not sure if people are still watching or not. Hopefully people don't mind me bumping this thread to talk about the current week's episode.

I do *not* get why the judges keep passing Afro Blue on. They are good at their jazz stuff, but they've been soundly out-sung week after week on every other piece. Tonight was the worst... their performance of "We Belong Together" was completely bland, and their second was equally forgettable. The other team in the bottom two, Vocal Point, was amazing on their first performance tonight - possibly one of the most entertaining of the competition. Yet, the judges passed Afro Blue on, and I cannot fathom why.

If there is any justice in this competition, Afro Blue's luck will run out next week, leaving Urban Method, Pentatonix, and Dartmouth Aires as the last three. Of those, I'm putting all my money on Pentatonix at this point for the win.

I don't know about week to week, but this week I think they kept Afro Blue so that there are some women in the competition other than the one girl in Pentatonix.

I agree that Afro Blue has been consistently weak in the competition, and should have been eliminated at least a couple of times by now, but just looking at the two songs for this week, I think that Vocal Point was weaker. There was no energy, no pop, no soul, and in the second song there were one or two glaringly bad chords where they were all off from one another.

Before they got to the announcements at the end, I totally called it that it was going to be AB and VP in the bottom 2, with VP getting eliminated.

I think the winner is going to either be Dartmouth or Pentatonix. If I had to guess only one, it would be Pentatonix.

The lead from Dartmouth, his voice reminds me of the guy who played Judas in the Jesus Christ Superstar movie from the early 70s.

What was strange about VP getting voted out was that Ben had just gone telling them that the next time we see them they need to step it up. He made it sound like it was a forgone conclusion that they would make it through.

I did agree with him that they have been just "skating" through the last few weeks and really playing it safe, but they were still way better than AB.

I'd probably agree that they wanted to keep some females on the show and that's why they put them through.

I've been surprised Afro Blue made it through the last couple of times they were in the bottom two. If they wanted females they should have kept Delilah last week.

I really liked Delilah. One of the first songs they did (I forget which one now) blew me away!

Probably "Grenade," linked to in the OP.

Delilah was pretty good... the downside was that their beat-boxer was really not very good at all, and being an all female group they didn't have any bass or tenors to fill out that part of their arrangements.
