...It will have Dwight (Wilson) living at the Schrute family beet farm and bed & breakfast...
First thought? Bad idea. But, I'm sure I'd at least take a look.

Yeah, you can never tell until you see it. Could be good like Frasier, or it could be Joey.
I might enjoy more Schrute. Same producers I assume?
Do you think they will diversify into other crops? That would be an awesome storyline.
"Paul and Rainn have been joking for years about Dwight's life on the farm, his family and how ill-suited he is to run a B&B," a source close to The Office said.
This could be an American version of Fawlty Towers.

I'll give it a shot.
I'll believe there is a The Office spinoff when I see it (or hear that the pilot(s) crashed and burned so badly - never mind Joey; think W*A*L*T*E*R (or does anybody else remember the attempted Family Ties spinoff, The Art of Being Nick) - that they decided not to pick up the series).

The last time somebody "officially" announced one, it became Parks & Recreation.

What do you mean? Parks and Rec is a spinoff?
The episodes of The Office that have taken place at Schrute Farms have been pretty funny. I'd at least try it out.

I don't know if the announcement was ever official. But the last time we heard about a spinoff of "The Office", it was to star Amy Poehler and eventually morphed into "Parks and Recreation".

Hmm. Not sure what the tie in would have been. Do you know what about the Office was going to be spun off?

I think they were funny because they had other members of the Office there. I don't know if I could handle just Dwight and his brother.

Nothing...and I mean NOTHING....will EVER approach the hilarity of Fawlty Towers...

Maybe they'll introduce his other brother:

From what I have read, I think part of the problem was that they couldn't decide just what to spin off, and when Amy Poehler got involved, they dropped the whole spinoff idea.

I would think he would be better suited to running a B&B&B. That is Bed & Breakfast & Beets, lol
Who would be the likable character on this?

Right. Dwight is funny because he has a straight man to play off. I don't think he would be funny as a standalone character.

YET ANOTHER version..

I knew about the 2nd, with Bea Arthur as the Basil standin.

I was fairly sure there was one more, didn't realize there was a third.

BTW, as I said on a news article, I think this could be good for an episode or two, or a very short run intended limited series (6 eps?), or even used AS some of the Office episodes (though that would probably PO a lot of people).
