The Office: S08E14 "Special Project" OAD 2/8/12

One of the better episodes this season, I thought. Dwight turning the conference room into Florida was hilarious, with the humidifier and pictures of Casey Anthony and Katherine Harris on the wall. :)

"An even more useful gift is cash."

Is the actress who plays Erin actually leaving the show?

EDIT: Mods, please change the date in the thread title to 2/9/12.

Turned kinda serious there at the end with Erin saying she wasn't coming back and Pam's replacement hatching a plan to break up Pam and Jim's marriage.

I didn't get that. Who was Pam's replacement talking to and what's the deal. I would think that Jim could come home on the weekends. I mean, Gabe is traveling so why not Jim.

I like the episode overall - I think it will be a nice break to have some of the team down south and some up north. And Dwight almost seemed like he was happy with his group at the end.

Robert California. He wants Pam and has to get Jim out of the way.

has that been mentioned before? i really like that theory, but don't remember it being brought up
Some people are going to be a bit disappointed at how far Tallahassee is from the beach (not to mention how far it is from Cape Canaveral).

Nope. That was my theory.

Although my serious guess - Jim's ex girlfriend from that other branch is behind this. I forget her name now.
I just thought she was talking to a girlfriend or something and I had a WTF moment. They've never even shown her talking to Jim (or really anybody for that matter), let alone making any moves on him, did they?

This was my take, and I had a similar WTF.

I thought it was interesting how Dwight was disgusted with his team at first but then when they started having good suggestions (even Erin) he became somewhat pleased with them but attributed their good performance to "good leadership". Typical Dwight.

I thought that most Floridians consider Tallahassee part of Georgia as it is.
;)

Not that I recall.
There may have been one or two looks but I don't really recall them.

It may be possible though that Cathy heard about the incident when Pam was trying to prove that Jim found her (Cathy) attractive and misinterpreted it as "Jim has a thing for her" and has decided to reciprocate.

The one part I didn't quite get was Darryl and Val.
A guy calling claiming to be her boyfriend and Val saying she doesn't have one?
Darryl my man, are you sure you want to be steppin' in the middle of that?

When we last saw Karen (aside from her brief appearance in the Michael Scarn episode), she was married and expecting her first child and running another branch of Dunder Mifflin.
At this point, I don't see her wanting to get back at Jim and Pam.
Ahh, Karen Filippelli.

She is very exotic looking. Was her dad a G.I. ...?

I was under the impression that they would be pretty much working non-stop. It's a big project to complete in just three weeks.

You are right about Gabe though. He spends Monday, Wednesday, Friday in Florida and Tuesday and Thursday in Scranton. :)

Not sure

Do you think he looks like a G.I.?

A Great Instrumentalist? Sure.

I don't remember exactly when, but she did say something about Jim being cute. Perhaps at the pool party at Robert California's house?

When Val denied to Darryl that she had a boyfriend, it was an indication (to Darryl) that she doesn't want him to lose interest in her, meaning she might have interest in him.

But I agree that Darryl should run far away from that situation. However, if Jim had run away from a similar situation early in the series, the show would be very different now.

While it was odd that she was thinking she was suddenly going to seduce Jim, I didn't have any problem with her talking to the camera. Everyone in this show talks to the camera at some point. It's just part of the show.

Sounds like at least two people here need to go back and watch the Season 3 episode entitled "The Merger", when Michael met Karen for the first time.

:p

Unless I missed something (and would have to go back and look, which I just don't feel is worth it right now), she was not doing a 'talking to the camera' bit, but was outside, talking on her phone in a way that gave the impression she didn't want to be heard by others, and the camera crew was filming it, seemingly without her knowledge.

I assume at this point she's no longer running another branch of Dunder Mifflin. I don't think those exist anymore.

But yeah, the actress has another full time gig on Parks & Rec, so they're probably not bringing her in as a central character to any story line. Maybe a guest shot here and there but probably nothing big.
