The Non-Complainers thread for 20.2

I was excited to finally get 20.2 and even more thrilled when I was able to force the upgrade early (just by a day of course).

The new guide is silky smooth and the programming is awesome. The nested folder look is very clean ..etc.

I love it!!

I really haven't noticed much difference, so I guess that makes me a non-complainer... at least for now!

What 'nested folder' look?
I still use the SD menus so maybe I don't see much of a difference. They didn't do anything to screw it up so I guess that's a reason not to complain.

I got to give them kudos for participating in the forums again. It makes me less likely to complain if I know the issues are documented and they are aware of them.

Hmmmm, is it sarcasm or genuine appreciation? Hmmmmm....

So much p*ssing and moaning on this forum and now a totally positive post. Sure looks suspicious...

My honest assessment, The previous hdui was so slow I gladly stayed with the sdui. The new version at least allows the cursor to move with reasonable speed. I can now enjoy surfing the hdui.
My only issues are after deleting a program that is inside a Grouped Folder, TiVo tells me that the Folder is empty and the placement of the Info Banner.
It's a little slow but in all a good step forward. But still too slow to "love" it or brag about it. Time to tweak it and optimize it.
Tough croud.

Appreciate it for what it is folks.
I do.
Great stuff!

Thanks for 20.2 TiVo!
I thought this was a non-complainers thread :)

Too funny.

My TIVO records the shows I want with me just thinking about it don't even have to press a button--doesn't everyone have the version that reads each customers mind and does what each one wants on an individual basis? That's what mine does after 20.2 :)

Did you notice the background in the SDUI is now not animated and blue instead of orange? That's a major difference right there.
I love this thread.

On a board devoted to TiVo, a separate thread needs to be created for happy users. Gotta love it.

No real complaints, I love my TiVo.
20.2 gave us a cool surprise tonight when we watched the Chuck 2-hour series finale. When there are multiple episodes within a folder, there's now an option to play them non-stop and in sequence. Worked flawlessly... TiVo ROCKS!

That's actually been there before.

It has but I think that it is more clear now than in the past. I like the new 20.2 interface with one minor exception, no on screen clock in the lower right corner is possible under the HD interface. It is really a bummer now I need to find a stupid clock to put near my TV as it was something I had come to rely on.
Great!
I can now read my menus. Previously the background (the white light-bulbs in particular) rendered some of them unreadable.

Deletion of extra Tivo Suggestions is now much improved.

Can't try streaming yet as it is not available for Series 3 (THD) and no streaming only boxes are available as yet.

I wonder if they fixed that problem with HDUI upcoming episode lists where it kept losing its place when it came back up after selecting one of the programs?
Maybe I'll try it and see.
Edit: Nope, tried it. Still screwed up. I will stay with SDUI until they fix that.

I do appreciate streaming but frankly that should have been done a long time ago and was probably developed because of the directv contract since their equipment does stream and a lot of cable companies stream. Simple things are now screwed up. Last night I went to the guide and hit record on a program on channel 505 to set a season pass for it. The new software wanted to schedule the pass for the same show at the same time on an antenna channel 35-1 that I dont even think comes in. Fix the stuff you broke Tivo and make the HD interface faster. and FYI Tivo its still SD menus when you look at recordings on another Tivo. You still have a LOT of work left. Nice effort but still lacking and VERY VERY LATE. I really want this to be THE BEST product out there. Earn our money Tivo.
Got my Tivo Elite yesterday, CableCard installed today.... things are going suspiciously well, so I'm cautiously optimistic.
I received the streaming update and all is right in the world. No really, I do like 20.2. Just wish word of an Amazon Prime app was coming soon.
