Did anyone else watch this? I really liked it, and I'm interested to see where it goes.

I'll admit...every time Tobin Bell showed up in a scene, I kept expecting him to say, "I want to play a game."

I watched it. I'm from Pittsburgh and wanted to check out where they filmed.

Some of the action was totally preposterous...

...the female FBI agent whipping her gun out in a crowded area to shoot the robbers who hadn't hurt anybody.

...The swat team coming up through the vent, starting a firefight that must have involved 1000 rounds of ammo, and nobody gets scratched on the robbers' side and just one swat member gets hit.


But, I totally enjoyed it and will be coming back next week. This is the way ABC's "The Nine" SHOULD have been conceived - minus the Spike TV tweaks to the script ("Are you hard?")

Exactly. The reason the vets holed up back in the bank and took hostages can all be traced back to her wanting to play hero.

As a character in Serenity said so succinctly, "You know what the definition of hero is? Someone who gets others killed."

I was a bit surprised to find out that this was a series. How long do they expect to drag it out?

Yeah, the action was a little far fetched, but fun to watch. I'll be waiting for the next one to see where things will be going with this.

I liked it. Not enough action shows out these days.
Tobin Bell, Donny Wahlberg...if I knew anyone else's name in Saw II, I'd ask if it was a reunion.

Anybody else find the whole correction of sentence structure a bit annoying from Donnie Wahlberg?

Yes! The detective is being rude. If the writers insist on this behavior from the character, he shouldn't be making grammatical mistakes himself. I should get the actual quotes, but, once each in the episode, he used "like" instead of "as" (e.g., "tastes good like a cigarette should") and "less" instead of "fewer" (e.g., "there are less people coming than we expected"). As soon as he started correcting people, I started to keep score. Anyone notice any other grammatical errors by Wahlberg's character? (Not by me! By Wahlberg!)

"Marcos" is a name, so "Marcos' " would be correct if, for example, the shop were named after the former ruler of the Philippines. I think we met Marco, so I have to give Wahlberg this one, but it is possible that "Marcos' " or "Marcos's " is correct.

I haven't watched this yet, but is it an improvised show? If not, then the above is the writers' fault, not the actor's.

Well, the idea put forth (as I interpreted it) by NoCleverUsername was that they (the powers that be) chose to use an extra - a day player with no lines, usually to cut costs - rather than use an actor, who they could entrust with lines, but who they'd have to pay more (because of union rules).

Of course, in this instance it was actually a stuntwoman, but I think the basic question deserved to be asked.

Anyway, it'll all make sense if/when you watch this.

I have a feeling this is one that I will enjoy the show MUCH more than the threads (granted, as it should be) if people are going to pick nits with every little thing that's going on (which is completely within their rights!).

It's certainly got me wanting to see more. Never been a big Leguizamo fan, but he isn't putting me off in this so far. I like Wahlberg and am amused at his correcting people's grammar (or is that "him" correcting people's grammar ). Cracked me up to see Omar as a police sniper, too!

It's just in the threads that I will need to suspend my disbelief - it's a TV show, people!
