The Good Wife - OAD 11/6/11 SPOILERS

Hi ALL,

Yes, this season is not as good as last season, but its still a good show which I enjoy watching.

But I'm confused about something. Who is the lady lawyer assisting Cary? I know she has been in a few episodes but it seemed like she was not actually an employee of the District Attorney. And then there was talk about her last day working with Cary when they went to confront Will. After Will kicked them out of his office she gave him a real close and dirty look before she left. Did she have a past history with Will? Then near the end of the episode she was mad that something seemed to fall through that she was not going to the job she was expecting or something like that.

While I admit to sometimes dozing off for some shows, I am very certain I watched this and all the other episodes all the way through but I'm missing the story about her.

Could someone please summarize who she was and what she was doing?

You're confusing 2 different attorneys. There was another black woman who was from the state's attorney's office, watching to make sure that there was fairness in sentencing. The other one was an assistant DA who was leaving. She was passing off her stuff to Cary and others before she left (and ended up not leaving). She had a job offer from a defense attorney to work for them. It ended up falling through.

I liked Alicia's attorney. She reminded me Felicia Day.

I could not place her at first, and then suddenly it got to me: Arlene from True Blood!

Yeah it's a regular True Blood reunion on there now, with Arlene back (she was Peter's lawyer for a while when he was in prison) and now with Mrs. Reverend Newlin as Alicia's underling.

Ahhhh!!!!!!! Totally missed that! She was familiar but for the life of me I could not place her. Meant to look it up but I forgot...

And can't remember even she was Peter's lawyer, hmmmm, need a memory pill

And the vampire king of Mississippi stills shows up as a judge now and then. I can't see his face without picturing him saying "we'll eat your children!"

YES!! You're right! There was another lady lawyer that was watching them but for a while I thought it was from another show.

But now back to this lady lawyer. Do we know which law firm she was supposed to go to and why it fell through? Also, why did she give such a close and dirty look at Will? Did she know him from something else?

Wow, I missed that! I immediately recognized Arlene and there was something familiar about Alicia's underling but I couldn't place her. Good catch!

FYI, just as a legal technicality -- that woman was an AUSA, an Assistant United States Attorney, which is a federal position. She was the one observing the State Attorney's office to evaluate fairness in sentencing.

It's a bit confusing, because Peter is the State's Attorney for Cook County, which does not mean that he is the attorney for the entire state, it is the equivalent of the District Attorney in other states. He is the attorney representing the State of Illinois in cases brought in that county.

I was going off of memory. I first put US attorney, and then deleted it. I didn't figure that it really made a difference for the explanation.
