Well that took a turn I didn't expect. With Liz now dead, will ee ever find out who Raymond really is? After both ladt week's episode and this one, I think it is obvious that Red is Liz's mother.

It's the only theory that fits all of the evidence and what we've been told/shown. Last week's episode was a really good one. This one was a bit heartbreaking.

With both Boone and Bokenkamp leaving the show at the same time, I wonder what next season is going to be like. At this point in time Red has no good reason to disclose who he is and why he re-entered Liz's life. But I really hope they do, and that next season will be the last.

Red is Liz's mother? That's an interesting theory!

I assumed that Liz was going to die this episode, with Boone leaving, so that was not a shock to me. I wonder (hope) Bokenkamp at least left an outline for a last season so that it ties up nicely. I fully expect Red to go on a revenge rampage next year (of course in Red's understated style) and he'll get the FBI team to help (and without Liz, there's not the complication to want to "bring her back in") I'll watch just to see how it ends, but I think the series ending with Red revealing who he is and either he or Liz dying would have been where they should have cut it off.

They strongly hinted at Red being Liz’s mother, which based on how this show operates means he almost certainly won’t be.

Though with both Boone and the series creator leaving, next season could just turn into a mess and could go that direction. At this point Red’s main purpose (protecting Liz) is gone, there’s no one to get revenge on and Red is dying. I feel next season will kind of just drift.

People are still watching this POS? I loved it until whats her face became "the big bad". I usually would watch anything Spader is in but this just got so ridiculous. The beginning of the end was the cartoons they had during covid. I appreciated the honesty of "this is what happened" but the writing just went haywire. I would have been more than happy with them catching a blacklister a week but all the other stuff...good Lord!

FWIW, there was only one episode that had "cartoons" in it and that was because production shut down mid filming that episode. Rather than not air it or wait for filming to restart, they animated the missing pieces. Rather ingenious if you ask me.

I get that, but it's still a fun watch, even though the stories have gotten silly. It reminds me of 24, in that the writing had gotten bad and implausible, but it was still fun to watch. And Spader is just so fun to watch in action.

This is my biggest fear for the series as well. With no real purpose for Raymond to be involved (aside from the frienemyships he has with the taskforce) I think it will go to capture the blacklister of the week type format with no more backstory/mystery. This to me would be incredibly boring (as Reddington is fond of saying) and I'd probably stop watching. I hope this is the final season as I can't see it going on much longer.

Nobody thinks Red will go on a revenge spree? My guess is there will be a gig baddie who pulled the strings for this year's villain (a la 24) and that's who Red will go after.

I feel like that particular ship sailed about two seasons ago. We've been more-or-less hate-watching for quite a while now, patiently waiting each week for those few little morsels of Spader being Spader. Love that guy, but the show itself has been a steaming pile for a long time.

Not that there appears to be much interest in this show any longer, but a friend of mine played Vandyke this season. I interviewed him for my film festival recently and he gives some insight into the show, if you're interested.
