It’s been a number of weeks now and I think TiVo+ is a bust! It’s slow, no show info at all and it’s buggy. Pauses all over the place. It’s also low def. Honestly I don’t understand why it’s there. Certainly it can’t be something TiVo is proud of, its content looks like a 3rd Grader designed the lineup. Who wants TiVo+ gone or who wants it to stay?

I wasn’t seeing the TiVo+ ad in the channel guide in my TiVo Mini. Then, for the first time on this device, I actually selected TiVo+ from the main menu, just to check out its performance. That was a mistake. It went to a black screen for about 15 seconds. Just a black screen. I thought the TiVo Mini had crashed. :-/

Then, finally, the TiVo+ welcome screen appeared, and it’s asking me to “Exit” or “Accept” the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. But the remote control doesn’t work at all, I can’t move the selection or click to Accept. I have tried every button on my remote, which is the TiVo keyboard remote, connected by RF, which otherwise has worked fine for me for years. All I can do is hit the TiVo button to go back to the main screen. What a joke. Did TiVo even test this?

To add insult to injury, *NOW* I see the annoying AF ad for TiVo+ in my guide, for channels I can’t even access, because the TiVo Mini won’t allow me to click to “Accept.”

I’ve been on a rollercoaster with TiVo since their very first model. I’ve had very many TiVos and have been one of their most loyal cheerleaders since the beginning. But now, I have completely lost all faith in their ability to deliver a customer-friendly experience. All things considered, YouTube TV is looking better and better as a DVR service. I doubt I’ll ever buy another piece of TiVo hardware again. And I have zero faith that their promised AppleTV app will *ever* come out.

What a sad end for a once-innovative company.

Yeah, TiVo+ is a complete bust, a turn off, and I despise that I can’t even ignore it. Ads for it in the channel guide? For a service that doesn’t even work, and folks don’t even want? It all just feels like a sad joke.

Does anyone know the ramifications of accepting this from the guide menu? Someone in my household accidentally clicked on this after I had explained not to click on accept. Is there an additional fee for this?

Yeah, pre-roll ads that we apparently can inconsistently opt-out of, that TiVo inserts at the start of our recordings, seems to be the biggest fail of all fails.

That’s not a “slippery slope.” That’s the latest bottom, of an already deep slope.

I used to be a proud TiVo customer. At one point in a media blitz many years back, I was featured, and pictured, as one of the biggest cheerleaders. Now? I think TiVo is pathetic and I’m embarrassed to defend them. These latest decisions are absolutely atrocious.

As bad as it is, why did TiVo put it out? We have to assume it will improve so why didn't Tivo wait until it had a decent product?
Desperate cash grab? A complete disregard for the customer experience?

The featured channels probably pay them to feature (i.e. force us to see) them. TiVo no longer sees us as their customer. They see *advertisers* as their customer.

The thing is, I could see this being a viable path for TiVo as a lower-cost model, just not for current paying customers. For those of us who paid up for "All-in" service, we should not need to endure more ads than before especially for a service known for letting people skip ads. Come out with a lower-cost or "free" service supported by ads for new people and there's really no problem with that. TiVo+ is fine as an ad-supported offering that we can just ignore if we aren't interested.

Are you insane? Have you looked at it? It's crap pure and simple. It's not even worth free. It's a pathetic attempt at imitation and it's a fail. No listing information it's all low def and the free movies? What's the point if you don't know what's on when it's on.

I have not opened it nor will I. At this point it is only on the front page images that I already ignore. IMO they're a waste of space and I'd rather just be taken to My Shows.

Perhaps it will become more invasive but it's an added offering that I can easily ignore so I don't let it bother me. Should it get more intrusive, I will likely be more annoyed by it but at this point I can easily ignore.

Same experience with my Mini. I emailed customer service. They suggested I reboot. I asked again. They suggested I perform a Clear & Delete Everything.

If it makes you feel any better, I was getting ads in my Guide before I even attempted to use the feature on my Roamio or Mini. So you would have got the ads eventually anyway.

Ugh. Lemme guess, that didn't work either? They have no idea what they're doing over there.

Yes, strangely, it does make me feel better. At least now I won't feel like it's my fault :) Thanks.
