Well the race is over with. And unfortunately that was a pretty boring episode. The team who got the best taxi at the start took the lead and kept it for the entire leg and won the money.

Beard Bros were bound to have a bad leg, and mostly just got a bad taxi who seemed to take them to the wrong place.

Why would they put a needle-in-a-haystack task in the final leg? That seems like a crazy way to spread out the teams and remove any sort of suspense. Sure, someone could come from behind but this was at the start of the leg where they all were neck-and-neck.

The globe puzzle was fun I thought though.

i was fine with either the beard bros or boyfriends winning, and while i liked hung & chee, i felt they were the least deserving of the three remaining teams.

the last few finales have been anticlimatic, i'm wondering if going back to a 2-hour final 4 to final 3 finale would be better?

Why did you think Hung and Chee were the least deserving? I was rooting for them the whole time. They were the most chill, I mean, come on, Chee was Randall Park in disguise-and Hung helped everyone. I wanted them to win the $$ for their kids' college funds.

I like the BFs and the Beard Bros but they were a little conniving for my taste-I know, that's how you play the game-but it's not my idea of fun.

I mentioned before that I would not enjoy a weird eating challenge-not sure why the BFs had so much trouble with the beignets - I guess (sorry, don't know names) the one who did the king cake challenge ate a lot of cake, but what about the other? Beignets are YUMMY!

that was me, and while i like them as a couple, they just didn't seem to be on top of their game, luckily working their way through challenges forrest gump style - without the support of the alliance, i don't believe they would have made final 3.

I was rooting for the beard bros. While they definitely deserved to win, I found the boyfriends annoying. Hung and Chee were fine, but they seemed always to be a secondary team. At least both the BF and Beards won multiple legs.

I loved New Orleans as the final destination. I've only ever spent a couple of pre-cruise days there, but I absolutely loved it. I liked the Bourbon Street challenge, the beignets and kingcake challenge and the Mardi Gras Land challenge as all were appropriate for the location, but the bridge challenge could have been done anywhere and there was nothing special about it (except it was at night, which I guess is kind of cool). I also assumed they'd end the race at Jackson Square, which would have been fun too.

Disappointing finale. They didn’t even try to make it seem like it was close at the end, I wonder what the final margin was. My least favorite team won. i know they were filming another season when they had to halt production. Hopefully TAR continues post pandemic, it’s still one of my favorite shows .

Needless to say, I was thrilled with the results. I would have been happy with any of the final three winning, but I was rooting for Will & James. They played a strong race all the way through (except for Will and the stick shift issues).

Here's an interesting interview Phil did with them, where they explain their strategy.

As soon as the episode was over I ran over and left them a note on their mailbox congratulating them and telling them to let me know when they're ready to go house hunting.

There's a reason this season was filmed 2 years ago and left in the can. Worst season yet.
Completely agree. I have watched every season, and many seasons twice, and this ranks among the worst. I think this season the alliances were a big part of the problem with far too much help being dolled out to teams that otherwise would probably have been eliminated. Also the globe challenge just wasn't hard enough to act as any kind of equalizer in the last leg.

It's amazing that the alliance was able to hold all the way through. On Survivor there are tons of alliances, but they always fall apart, usually sooner rather than later. Of course this show is very different. They don't seem to actually be together that much and probably don't really know each other as well. We'll see if this happens again.

Survivor's alliance structure changed over time, to where they had solid alliances initially to more of an alliance of convenience...where your alliances developed as needed for a particular week. One reason I think that happened is because they started mixing up the tribes rather than keep them together until the merge. I think that change made the players realize that there are more ways to do an alliance. That's helped the game quite a bit. It's a major reason that this past All-Star season was so great. Old school vs. new school

Big Brother on the other hand, alliances tend to last most of the game, and for that reason, it's gotten REALLY boring, especially if you have the right people in your alliance, a combo of competition beasts and got strategizers.

This was the first time I can remember that any type of alliance worked at all for any length of time. And now I can see it going the way of BB, where three teams align at the beginning of the game and help each other to the final three. I think they need to change that up somehow. Maybe teams can't talk to each other once they get the envelope with the challenge.

I agree that it was the worst season ever. Hated the final episode because is all the reasons others have listed. My least favorite team won, which has happened before but never annoyed me before this season.

Still one of my favorite shows on TV but very disappointed with this go-around.

I read an article with an interview with a producer (I think) where they said they were not super-happy with the amount of information sharing during the challenges and were thinking about ways to prevent it in future races. Unfortunately I lost the link, but I'll be interested to see what they do, if/when things come back.
